How to Move Files from Dropbox to Google Drive

Switching from Dropbox to Google Drive — or just need a specific folder in both places? The manual approach means downloading everything locally and re-uploading, which takes time and disk space. There's a faster way.

This guide shows how to transfer files from Dropbox to Google Drive directly, without downloading them to your computer.

Step by step

1. Go to mytera.app and create a free account
2. In the Integrations section, connect your Dropbox account
3. Connect your Google Drive account
4. Open the Cloud Explorer — two panels side by side
5. Set the left panel to Dropbox and navigate to your files
6. Set the right panel to Google Drive and navigate to the destination folder
7. Select the files or folder you want to transfer and drag them across — or right-click and choose Transfer
8. TERA handles the transfer. For large folders you can close your browser while it runs

What happens to the original files?

By default TERA copies files — the originals stay in Dropbox. If you want to delete them from Dropbox after confirming everything transferred correctly, you'd do that manually. This way you can verify the transfer before removing anything.

Folder structure is preserved

When you transfer a folder, TERA recreates the same folder structure in Google Drive. Subfolders, nested folders — all of it comes across as-is. You don't need to recreate anything manually.

File size limits

The free plan handles files up to 100MB. Most documents, images and typical work files fall under this. For video files or large archives, the Pro plan supports up to 5GB per file.

Can I do this on a schedule?

Yes. If you want new Dropbox files to automatically appear in Google Drive, set up a scheduled task in TERA. Define the source folder in Dropbox and the destination in Google Drive, pick a schedule, and TERA runs the sync automatically.
