How to Transfer Files from OneDrive to Google Drive

Moving from Microsoft to Google Workspace, or just need your OneDrive files accessible in Drive? Downloading everything and re-uploading manually works but it's slow, requires free disk space, and your computer has to stay on throughout.

Here's how to transfer files from OneDrive to Google Drive directly, without going through your computer.

Step by step

1. Create a free account at mytera.app
2. Go to Integrations and connect your Microsoft OneDrive account
3. Connect your Google Drive account
4. Open the Cloud Explorer
5. Set one panel to OneDrive, the other to Google Drive
6. Navigate to the files or folders you want to move
7. Drag them from the OneDrive panel to the Google Drive panel
8. TERA transfers them directly — you can close the browser for large transfers

Microsoft Office files in Google Drive

Word, Excel and PowerPoint files transferred to Google Drive remain in their original format (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx). Google Drive can open them natively, and you can convert them to Google Docs format from inside Drive if you prefer.

What about shared files?

TERA transfers files that belong to your OneDrive account. Files shared with you by others won't appear unless they've been added to your own OneDrive (My Files). Shared folders added to your OneDrive via "Add shortcut to My files" are supported.
